PeopleReady proudly supports military veterans and their spouses by offering job opportunities across the country. One military veteran in particular has found success and purpose in his career through his role on our team.

Safety coordinator Vladimir “Jack” Jacildo, a U.S. Air Force veteran, is an essential part of our partnership with a facilities maintenance and base operations services contractor that helps coordinate all the activities associated with their graduation ceremonies for the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jack’s military career began at Travis Air Force Base in California in 1983, with tours overseas in Tokyo in 1999 where he served as a chief of administration for a political military directorate. He went on to work at the American Embassy in London from 2002–2005 as a training NCO and security manager for the Office of Defense Corporation. There, he managed security through coordinated and approved clearance between United Kingdom military forces, the UK Ministry of Defense, and American companies and contractors — and acted as European Command liaison for exchange officer training program for Air War College, Naval War College and Royal Navy.

Jack had served as a superintendent and first sergeant for the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for three years before coming to PeopleReady. In collaboration with Takisha Madrid, a PeopleReady branch manager in Colorado Springs, Jack completes a variety of duties to ensure that all activities run smoothly.

Jack’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all PeopleReady associates are educated on safety protocols and procedures. He also delivers water to associates and encourages them to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks to cool down. Meanwhile, Jack also performs job site evaluations and meets with clients directly so that everyone is clear about expectations at all times.

“I am so thankful for the opportunity given to me at PeopleReady shortly after retiring from active duty,” says Jack. “The transition from the military to the civilian sector is not as seamless as most would think. PeopleReady provided me with my second wind in life.”
